Remind Me to Remember…(2018)

12th – 15th July 2018

Brock Keep Gallery, OpenHand OpenSpace, Reading

The pieces I exhibited are part of a small installation.

The work references my own feelings of mortality and time passing of aging drawing on former work linking to identity and matriarchy female history spanning 159 years.  ‘Daisy’ was the name of the unborn child I never had, she would of been 16 years of age this year… Is this the Life by The Cardiacs would be played, this song sums up misspent youth and following a band that were full of life and energy.

Reference to Wilfred Owens poem… A Terre – “Pushing up daisies,” is their creed, you know.

The work leading on from this will be part of a year project linking to my age. I shall be turning 52 years young later in the week. I have decided to set myself some challenges, but also within the framework they will be opportunities.
