Well there may have been a pandemic but I have managed to be creative and work throughout – which I am so grateful for as an artist but also as a gardener. Before the pandemic I had a solo show at The cornerHOUSE Community Arts Centre, What Window Are We Going To Go Through Today? (2020). I was selected for the Orleans House Gallery exhibition, Beyond The Frame, here I was inspired by a postcard of a glasshouse in their archives Byfield House (1892). I wrote a poem as part of a project led by The cornerHOUSE Community Arts Centre, in response to the pandemic, Covid-19 Lockdown 100. This has now been published and also the book has been placed in the British Library. This was then used as part of a shadow box in The Art Unlocked exhibition at Orleans House Gallery, as part of a response to the unfurling of Covid-19 by the Artists, Designers and Makers of Richmond Art House Open Studios. I created a video to talk about Muybridge for Kingston Museum and History Centre. I have exhibited at the Sprout Art Gallery in Streatham in their New Faces Exhibition.
Teaching has continued I am pleased to say, prior to the pandemic I had taught at Kew Art Studio, Cyanotype workshops. I also taught on the National Saturday Club and work was exhibited online instead of the exhibition taking place at Somerset House. I have started to teach online, through making videos for the next cohort, learning new skills myself to ensure I am up to date as an artist and educator. In the Summer I taught at The Landmark Arts Centre: Cyanotype and Printmaking using recycled materials.I also have managed to teach online via zoom for Adult Art Groups.
I am now also teaching Children and Young People both in an outdoor environment safely in lines with government guidelines and then latterly Online via zoom with support of parents.
At the Landmark Arts Centre my work is for sale in their shop this includes: Prints, Cards, Handmade Journals, Christmas decorations and other gifts. If you are interested in any of of my work or would like me to do a commission please contact me directly. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Wishing everyone a safe, healthy and creative New Year and thank you for your continued support
